Another 1080p projector: BenQ W10000 DLP
I don’t like half the way solutions. That’s probably why I still don’t have HD Compatible TV in my house. I just can’t buy 720p/1080i TV because it is not a true HD, but 1080p TVs are still expensive and struggling from limited availability. I actually don’t really understand this situation. 1080p HD-DVD and Blue Ray disks are available in any Best Buy or Circuit City, but 1080p TV sets are still rare. That’s why I enjoy any new announcements about 1080p compatible hardware.
BenQ Unveils Its First Full 1080p HD Digital Projector
TAIPEI, TAIWAN, 26 October, 2006 - BenQ today unveils its first full 1080p HD digital projector, the BenQ W10000, taking BenQ’s projector lineup to a higher level with its outstanding picture quality, optimized compatibility and advanced feature set. The BenQ W10000 home cinema projector features a sharp 10000:1 contrast ratio, native 1920 x 1080 resolution, a high brightness of 1,100 ANSI lumen and BenQ’s proprietary Senseye™ technology. Furthermore, the W10000 performs effortlessly with various devices, such as high definition DVD player, Blue-ray player and game console.

Designed to meet the needs of home cinema enthusiasts, the BenQ W10000 is equipped with Advanced Continuous Electronic IRIS and DarkChip3™ DMD chipset with a high resolution projection lens to provide the best possible image performance. The Advanced Continuous Electronic IRIS increases the contrast ratio to a high 10000:1 while optimizes light intensity for bright and dark scenes. The DarkChip3™ DMD helps to decrease the scattering of light and significantly boosts image contrast for dark scenes. Furthermore, the 8-segment NDG Color Wheel is able to effectively reduce green noise that commonly occurs in dark scenes.
Beyond its exceptional image quality, the W10000 also comes equipped with a broad selection of application options including cinema mode, home theater mode, family room mode, photo mode and gaming mode, providing instant settings for various applications. The W10000 also features a whisper quiet design that is able to reduce the operation noise to a low 23dB, ensuring an undisturbed viewing environment.

Solar powered Bluetooth GPS Receiver
My first GPS devise was HiaCom Mouse GPS system. It works ok, but it required special Car Charger to Pocket PC to GPS wire which cost almost as much as GPS unit itself. And s soon as I have changed my PocketPC to a newer model I decided to update my GPS to its bluetooth version. It is much much better. I can use it with any PocketPC or Laptop and I don’t have all that wires running through my car. But I still need one. Not all the time, but one wire from car power outlet to GPS unit to charge its battery. And guess what? Not anymore!
Some company called Proporta presents Solar powered Bluetooth GPS Receiver
The Proporta Solar Bluetooth GPS Receiver is a powerful in-car satellite navigation system that pinpoints your location precisely anywhere in the world, communicating wirelessly with your PDA/Smartphone or other mobile computer.Unlike rival systems the Proporta Solar Bluetooth GPS Receiver adds the convenience of solar charging to an already-powerful GPS system, so it’s ideal for walkers and cyclists as well as motorists.
Of course my first question was about price tag. Manufacturers site claim $109.95, which is really no different from non solar powered GPS units. Looks like I found my next GPS receiver and got rid from the last wire in my car.
